Synadia, The smart manufacturing company announces it successfully raised growth capital and expertise to expand in the fast-growing smart manufacturing market and further develop its unique platform for manufacturers, a Platform as a Service (PaaS) on a pay as you go, model.
Seasoned entrepreneur Marco Barkmeijer funds the growth capital. Marco is the former co-founder and CEO of SecureLink. Under his leadership, the company has grown in ten years from a start-up in cybersecurity to a European market leader active in ten countries with 700 people and a revenue of 300 million Euro. Last year SecureLink was bought by Orange.
According to different research firms, the smart manufacturing market is estimated to grow from USD 214.7 billion in 2020 to USD 384.8 billion by 2025, at a CAGR of 12.4%. Factors that drive the growth of the market include the increasing adoption of Industry 4.0 and complexity in supply chains, the rising emphasis on industrial automation in manufacturing processes and regulatory compliances, and the surging demand for software systems that reduce time and cost.
“I am impressed by the expertise and team the founders of Synadia, Remi, and Sebastiaan van Wijngaarden built so far. In the coming years, we will see a major transformation in the manufacturing market, and Synadia has what it takes to become the market leader using AWS Cloud technology to help these companies. I am thrilled spending my time and being part of Synadia, using my experience to scale the company further, and having a lot of fun doing this in the coming years”, says Marco Barkmeijer.
“We will use the funding and Marco’s expertise to further develop our unique platform for manufacturers across the globe to deliver this Platform as a Service (PaaS) on a pay as you go service”, says Sebastiaan van Wijngaarden.
Together with our partner Amazon Web Services, we develop this new platform based on the Connected Factory services from AWS. These services have already been proven at large enterprises like Volkswagen.
“The AWS IoT Connected Factory Solution was designed to help manufacturing customers unlock the data from the shopfloor and modernize their operations. Synadia with their expertise and industry knowledge in manufacturing is well placed to help customers build their connected factories on AWS”, Usman Javaid, Head of Emerging Services, AWS Professional Services.
“There is an enormous potential in the market to give industry 4.0 an extra dimension. I am very enthusiastic about the new collaboration with Marco, and I look forward to taking on this challenge together.”, says Remi van Wijngaarden.
