Chapter 1 — The Introduction

Intelligent Quality Control with 30+ High-Speed Cameras

A modern approach to quality assurance starts with understanding the nature of what is being produced. ConDoor operates in an environment defined by variation and precision. Each door that leaves the factory is unique, and that uniqueness demands a reliable method of documenting quality at scale.

A Modern QA Approach for a
High Variation Production Environment

ConDoor Door Solutions is one of Europe’s established producers of custom insulated doors for both commercial and residential applications. With several hundred specialists working across production sites in the Netherlands and Hungary, the company transforms customer specific requirements into durable, high performance doors built to exact standards.

Every product differs in size, insulation level, materials and finish. That diversity brings craftsmanship to the foreground but also introduces complexity. As production volumes grew, manual photo documentation was no longer sufficient. Surface imperfections discovered after delivery could lead to unclear discussions, lengthy investigations or unnecessary recalls.

To strengthen transparency and confidence throughout the value chain, ConDoor partnered with Synadia to create a digital imaging platform that automatically captures, processes and stores high resolution images for every door produced. This provides a single, objective record of quality at the moment of dispatch, accessible by operators, managers and customers.

Chapter 2 — The challenge

A Production Environment with No Room for Uncertainty

A high variation production environment demands an equally high level of clarity. ConDoor needed a QA solution that could keep up with its pace of manufacturing while maintaining absolute consistency in detection and documentation.

High Variety, High Volume and Zero Room for Ambiguity

Every door differs in dimension, structure, insulation and finish, which makes standardised quality control inherently difficult. Some doors move through multiple workstations, others follow specialised flows. Achieving uniform QA across these variations was nearly impossible with manual steps.

The technical requirements were strict. The system needed to detect dents of ten millimetres, scratches of two millimetres and paint inconsistencies in areas of ten millimetres, all while functioning reliably in a busy industrial environment with fluctuating lighting conditions. The workflow also needed to remain simple and error free for operators.

Production volume added another layer of complexity. More than ten thousand images needed to be processed daily, with several terabytes of data stored each month. All information had to be retrievable instantly, even long after production. No existing solution could meet these combined expectations, making a tailored system essential.

Chapter 3 — The project

A Unified System for Imaging, Edge Intelligence and the Cloud

Synadia engineered a complete QA ecosystem that connects industrial imaging, edge processing and cloud technology into one seamless workflow. The result is a consistent, intelligent and scalable solution for capturing product quality.

Industrial Imaging Setup

A dedicated light corridor provides uniform, shadow free lighting across doors of all lengths. More than thirty high speed cameras capture ultra high resolution images from both sides of each door. The setup automatically adjusts to varying dimensions so operators can work without changing hardware.

Edge Intelligence

A custom edge device aggregates raw images, stitches segments for long doors, performs quality checks and buffers data locally. Operators scan an order barcode and follow a guided handheld workflow that confirms correct image capture. This approach removes manual errors and ensures consistency across orders and sites.

Cloud Platform

Images are uploaded into a structured cloud repository organised per order. Retrieval is instant, enabling teams to open, inspect and share images without delay. Automated pipelines process and correct images while ensuring privacy through automatic face blurring.

The same platform was deployed at another ConDoor location without modifications, demonstrating the scalability and repeatability of the architecture.

Chapter 4 — The result

A Data Driven QA Process that Delivers Certainty

The new system transformed the way ConDoor manages quality assurance across its operations. Tasks that once involved manual searching, subjective interpretation and lengthy back-and-forth are now resolved quickly and objectively.

Complete Traceability, Faster Decisions and Fewer Disputes

Every door now has a complete visual record available in seconds. Operators benefit from a structured workflow that guides them through each step. Internal teams rely on a single source of truth. Customer discussions are resolved faster and more transparently because they are supported by clear visual proof.

Search times dropped from minutes to less than a second. Disputes related to transport damage declined significantly. The platform handles over ten thousand images per day and multiple terabytes per month without performance issues. Its ability to be duplicated across factories allows ConDoor to operate under a unified QA standard.

Chapter 4 — The benefits
